Data Protection (GDPR)
The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are a set of rules detailing how organisations must manage personal data, but only a fifth of schools surveyed recently are aware of the May 2018 enforcement deadline and that the new law applies to them.
GDPR came in to force on the 25th May 2018, replacing the existing Data Protection Act 1998 and introducing wide-ranging new duties and a completely new approach to managing data in schools.
Whether you have employee data, pupil details or parental contact information – if the data relates to an individual you will be required to comply with these new regulations.
